Suede Pastures and Rails

The grey fabric in this quilt was on sale...50 cents a yard...I couldn't pass that deal up...but it is a heavy suede look fabric...I never could figure out what to use it in, and I had bought all they had, 6 yards.

So it sat there...then I bought a small pack of fabric remnants...they were a suede look dyed fabrics, labeled flawed.  I bought them, not thinking of the grey fabric...that pack sat until I started to slash it into strips. The width came out to about 7", perfect for a 6" rail fence block...then I decided I need to make it bigger...so I dug and found the grey fabric.  I tied the quilt with grey pearle cotton.  It gives it that cozy look.

This combo is fabulous.  It is one of my favorite quilts because it looks so cuddly!

Black and White Sweatshirt Jacket

Our guild's November Workshop project was Sweatshirt Jackets.  I did mine out of a black sweatshirt, and 4 black with white fabrics and 4 white with black fabrics.

Each set of 4 fabrics made a rail fence block and then they cover the front of the jacket.  I decided not to do the back of the jacket on this one.  I will wear this to meetings and put my logo pins on it.

This jacket was displayed at the 2004 North Florida Fair and won the 2nd place ribbon for Quilted Clothing.  It also won 1st place in the Quilted Misc. division and Best In Class at the 2005 Columbia County Fair.

Christmas Leftovers

This quilt was pieced using all my own hand dyed fabrics.  I then stippled the rail fence design.
This was a scrappy quilt made from some of the leftover blocks from the 17 quilts I made for our family as Christmas presents.
There is always leftover food after the holidays and it all gets put in the fridge, then taken out, passed around and those leftovers turn into a couple of lunches and another dinner.  Well, these blocks got shoved in a cabinet, then I took them out and decided that the leftovers would make a nice lap quilt for charity.
